Would not want to touch father Dharmendra’s song, clarifies Sunny Deol

Actor Sunny Deol’s next film as director, Pal Pal Dil Ka Paas, will not recreate his father Dharmendra’s classic romantic number from Blackmail (1973). Instead the film is using the title of the hit romantic number to launch Deol’s son Karan and newcomer Saher Bamba.

The title track is currently being shot at different locations in Mumbai. It is being penned by Siddharth-Garima and composed by directors Sachet-Parampara and Rishi Rich.

Deol clarified the use of the 1973 Blackmail song made famous by his father and said, “[The] song Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas is iconic and I would not want to touch the song at all.”

“The title of the film is borrowed from the song because it suits the film and the title track of our film has the title as its first line. The similarity ends there. It’s a new song completely and the idea was never to emulate the cult song,” he continued.

Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas is due to be released on 19 July where it will go up against the rom-com Arjun Patiala starring Diljit Dosanjh and Kriti Sanon.
