Spider-Man: Far From Home: Is Mysterio Lying about the MCU Multiverse?

Welcome to a brand new iteration of our flagship show, Collider Movie Talk! Perri Nemiroff officially takes the reins as host today and is joined by John Rocha and Nikki Novak to talk about some of the hottest movie news stories of the day.

This morning Sony unveiled a brand new trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home, and there’s a good reason why they waited until Avengers: Endgame had two full weekends in theaters before unveiling it; this trailer addresses the repercussions of the events of the 22nd installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. On today’s episode, Perri, John and Nikki discuss whether or not they think Peter Parker (Tom Holland) will become the new Iron Man. They also highlight one particular shot of the trailer revealing some ongoing construction work being done on the old Avengers Tower. And then, of course, they call into question Mysterio’s (Jake Gyllenhaal) origins. Is he really from another Earth? Did one of the snaps tear a hole in our dimension? Or is he trying to pull one over on everyone?

In addition to the Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer, the trio also digs into Avengers: Endgame‘s performance at the box office thus far. It’s already broken a slew of records and is the second highest grossing movie worldwide but the big question is, will it manage to top James Cameron‘s Avatar? You can catch their thoughts in the video at the top of this article!
