If there is one thing that the film industry has seen over the years is how feuding celebrities have left a bitter past behind and called a truce. In his biography An Unsuitable Boy, director-producer Karan Johar had categorically said that his friendship with Kajol was over. His relationship with Kajol’s husband Ajay Devgn, had been far from cordial. Johar has now buried the hatchet with Kajol and Devgn both. Buzz has it that the couple will appear together on Johar television chat show, Koffee With Karan.
A source close to the development informs, “Kajol and Ajay Devgn will be appearing on Koffee With Karan. The episodes will be shot post the Diwali celebrations. I believe they have gone to the show individually, but this would perhaps be the first time that we will see them together.”
It may be recalled that in 2014, there were rumours of Kajol being upset with Johar for not having her in the opening episode of Koffee With Karan. A report by entertainment channel Zoom stated that the Dilwale (2015) actress was upset that despite expressing an interest in opening the new season of Koffee With Karan, the host did not invite her and instead decided to open the show with actor Salman Khan.
In 2016, Devgn had indirectly accused the Dharma Productions’ head honcho of paying Rs25 lakh to controversial, self-appointed film critic Kamaal Rashid Khan to defame the former’s film Shivaay. Devgn’s Shivaay had clashed with Dharma Productions’ Ae Dil Hai Mushkil on Diwali in 2016.
This season Johar has promised to push the envelope. It would be interesting to see if the trio speak about their strained relationship in the past.
Koffee With Karan airs on Star World and streams on digital platform Hotstar.
