Aamir Khan shares stage with Johnny Depp, Jackie Chan at Hainan International Film Festival

Aamir Khan might have served dinner at the recent Ambani wedding, but the actor is proving himself quite the draw in China. Invited to the closing ceremony of the Hainan International Film Festival, Khan shared the stage with three academy award nominees in Johnny Depp, Juliette Binoche and Jackie Chan.

Invited as a representative of India to the closing ceremony, Khan also took the time to promote his film, Thugs Of Hindostan, which recently opened in China.

At one point, the actor also shared the stage with Jackie Chan to make an announcement. While Chan helped make the translations from English to Mandarin, it was quite amusing to see Khan play second fiddle to the action star.

The actor also had a quiet word with Johnny Depp, while he presented on stage with Academy award winner, Juliette Binoche.

Incidentally, Khan’s latest film is said to have taken some inspiration from Depp’s turn as a pirate in Pirates Of The Carribbean franchise.

The actors were joined on the stage by actor Mads Mikkelsen, who is best known for playing the Bond villain, Le Chiffre, in Casino Royale (2006).

Aamir Khan has enjoyed a successful run at the Chinese box office with three of his films, Dangal (2016), Secret Superstar (2017) and PK (2014) enjoying a blockbuster run.

The actor’s latest, Thugs Of Hindostan, released in China earlier this month, but has not enjoyed a similar success. However, his stardom in the Middle Kingdom seems to be on the rise.
