Prateik Babbar joins Rajinikanth’s Darbar

Meet Rajinikanth’s newest foe — actor Prateik Babbar. The actor will play the antagonist in the upcoming AR Murugadoss film, Darbar, set in Mumbai.

In a press statement, the actor said: It is such a dream come true to have bagged this project in such little time. This year is looking very positive for me and Sanya [Sagar] has been such a great influence on my life professionally and personally. I can’t wait to commence shooting with Rajinikanth sir and Murugadoss sir this week and create some magic.

Last year, Babbar starred in Baaghi 2, Mulk and Mitron. In Mulk, directed by Anubav Sinha, he played a young Muslim man who turns jihadi. He recently also had a role in the Amazon Prime web-series, Four More Shots Please.

This year, Babbar will also be seen in Nitesh Tiwari’s Chhichhore, Mahesh Manjrekar’s Power and Sinha’s Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai.

Produced by Lyca Production, Darbar also stars Nayanthara. The film will be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu in 2020.
